Rio earns 8 week trial at Watford
Rio joined Pro-1 a year ago, where he was game sharing with another goalkeeper at Junior Alliance level. With Rio’s great height and athletic physic, Rio had all the tools to be a fantastic goalkeeper, however it was us at Pro-1 who had to teach Rio how to utilise them fully.
Rio settled in easily, attending our Monday session and soon accepted the Pro-1 syllabus extremely well. In a short time, Rio was then asked to join our advanced session on Wednesday to increase his training to twice a week sessions.
Six months in, Rio went from game sharing, to making the number 1 shirt his own, earning requests from other alliance sides applying for his fantastic goalkeeping skills.
Head Coach Dean said “When you enjoy your football you play well, and when you play well opportunities will come”
So after turning heads through good performance, Rio was contacted and asked to play in a game for Watford v Tottenham. Rio did well, with a solid 7/10 performance and then signed an 8 week trial straight after 👏👏
